Microsoft MWH 30-day Public Comment Period June 8 - July 8, 2022
Para asistencia en español: preguntas@ecy.wa.gov
This is a 30-day public comment period for the review of Microsoft MWH Data Center's draft permit and technical support documents.
Microsoft Corporation’s MWH Data Center is requesting to amend their current Approval Order 20AQ-E005 to add renewable diesel fuel as a fuel option for its emergency engines. MWH Data Center is located at 1515 Port Industrial Parkway in Quincy. The facility was previously only permitted to use diesel fuel equivalent to on-road specification No. 2 distillate fuel oil (containing less than 15 parts per million sulfur) for its emergency engines. Renewable diesel fuel containing less than 15 parts per million sulfur can be used to fuel the data center’s emergency engines with comparable or lower emissions than that of the same engine model running on No. 2 diesel fuel. There are no anticipated emission increases from this proposal.
We determined this proposal satisfies the requirements of Chapter 173-400 WAC and Chapter 173-460 WAC . We will hold a public virtual meeting if there is significant public interest.
Comment period ends July 8, 2022 .
